Reports & Metrics
The surface map shows which AI sources saw the business across tested intent clusters. It helps identify visibility gaps by source and prompt.
A surface map row usually connects an AI source to an intent cluster. The row can show whether the business was visible, missed, weakly supported, or unavailable for that source and intent.
This is useful because a single overall score hides where the problem lives. A business may be strong in general recommendations but weak for first-time customer trust or service-specific prompts.
Visible means the business appeared in the tested context. It does not always mean the answer was persuasive, well-cited, or better than competitors.
Always pair the surface map with cited pages, source summaries, and priority actions. If a source marks the business visible but the citation is weak, the business still has work to do.
Start with the intent cluster. If the weak row is about delivery, improve delivery pages. If it is about trust, improve reviews, policies, credentials, and proof. If it is about locations, improve location pages.
The surface map is most valuable when it points users back to the exact evidence that AI needed but did not find.
